CODE is a mixed-use building seeking LEED Gold certification. The multiple vegetative rooftop terraces supply tenants with beautiful outdoor space right on the Mall in the heart of Charlottesville. The benefits of green infrastructure are endless: urban heat island mitigation, biodiversity, stormwater retention, insulation, energy efficiency, low maintenance, increased building value, and access to green space for workforces.
International Roofing installed American Hydrotech hot rubberized asphalt waterproofing, insulation, drainage board, and growing media, as well as Ipe wood paver tiles on pedestals. The Ipe pavers are durable, sustainably harvested, and insect resistant. We are so proud to be involved on this innovative project with Hourigan Group.
